Webinar: Covid-19 Recovery: The role of the financial system in the return to economic prosperity.

November 2, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Guest speaker: Alex Brazier, Executive Director for Financial Stability & Risk, Bank of England

On Zoom

As the country continues to deal with the challenges of Covid-19, with the virus set to be a fact of life for at least the next six months, discussions about the economic recovery have been somewhat superseded by the more immediate threats posed by a second wave.

At this meeting, attendees will hear from Alex Brazier, Executive Director for Financial Stability Strategy and Risk at the Bank of England, as he recaps the Bank’s response so far, discusses the current challenges created by the resurgence of Covid-19, and considers how the financial system can support the economy – against the backdrop of the potential for a more permanent economic adjustment – and return the country on the path towards economic prosperity.

This talk is the latest in our Covid-19 recovery series. In previous meetings we heard from Catherine McGuinness of the City of London Corporation and John Glen MP, Economic Secretary to the Treasury, who gave the perspectives from the City and Government respectively. APPG Chair, Bim Afolami MP, will host the meeting, with attendees encouraged to join what will certainly be a lively discussion.
