Webinar: The role of financial services post-transition and post the Covid-19 crisis (and AGM)

March 8, 2021 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

Guest speaker: Katharine Braddick, Director-General, Financial Services, HM Treasury

On Zoom

The UK’s exit from the EU marks the start of a new chapter for financial services. As powers are returned from Brussels, ensuring we have the right frameworks in place for financial services will be crucial as we look to create an open, innovative and world-leading financial services sector.

With HM Treasury’s consultation on the future regulatory framework review drawing to a close, this webinar will look at how financial services can innovate and change as the UK settles into its new position outside the EU. We are fortunate to have as our guest speaker, Katharine Braddick, who as Director General for Financial Services at the Treasury has been one of the architects of the review. Katharine will also talk about the broader opportunities and challenges the sector faces, including through the current reviews of the UK’s listings regime and fintech sector.

This webinar will also touch upon the APPG’s own report, due to be published shortly, on the important role that Parliament will have to play in scrutinising and setting the political framework for financial services regulators within this new regime.

Followed by AGM
